Hyderabad, July 11: The stage is set for a thrilling finale as the inaugural TG20 Cricket Tournament, organised by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), reaches its climax. Hyderabad Champions will take on Khammam Aces in the much-awaited grand final at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, on Sunday (July 12).Having impressed with consistent performances throughout the tournament, both teams will battle for the coveted inaugural TG20 championship trophy in what promises to be an exciting contest.Addressing the media ahead of the final, HCA Secretary Jeevan Reddy, Treasurer Anil, and TG20 Council Chairman Agam Rao announced an attractive prize pool for the tournament. The champions will be awarded ₹1 crore, while the runners-up will receive ₹50 lakh. The two losing semifinalists will also be presented with ₹25 lakh each in recognition of their outstanding performances.The HCA officials said the TG20 tournament has provided a significant platform for emerging cricketers from across Telangana to showcase their talent. They expressed confidence that several standout performers from the tournament could earn opportunities in premier competitions, including the Indian Premier League (IPL).They also praised the high standard of cricket witnessed throughout the tournament and expressed hope that the grand finale would deliver an entertaining spectacle for cricket fans.Speaking ahead of the title clash, Hyderabad Champions captain Abhirath and Khammam Aces captain C.V. Milind expressed confidence in their teams’ preparations and determination to lift the inaugural TG20 trophy. Both captains noted that tournaments such as TG20 play a crucial role in nurturing district-level talent and further strengthening the cricketing ecosystem in Telangana.With the prestigious title, substantial prize money, and the opportunity to make history at stake, an enthralling contest is expected at Uppal on Sunday.
