Uppal, March 21:The holy festival of Ramzan symbolizes rich culture and tradition, stated former Municipal Chairman and senior Congress leader Mekala Shiva Reddy, along with senior Congress leader Dubba Narasimha Reddy.On the occasion of Ramzan, a grand programme to distribute sarees and clothes to the poor was organized on Saturday under the leadership of Youth Congress leader Sheikh Madar Vali Munna.Addressing the gathering, the leaders said Ramzan represents communal harmony and promotes brotherhood in society. They emphasized that supporting the underprivileged is a key objective of the Congress party and expressed happiness in continuing such service activities every year. They also noted that it is encouraging to see people celebrating the festival with joy and enthusiasm.They lauded the efforts of Sheikh Madar Vali, who is carrying forward the vision of his late father, Sheikh Bude Saheb, through such service initiatives. Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Madar Vali said he is committed to continuing the charitable activities started by his father and considers it his responsibility to support the weaker sections of society.Around 1,000 beneficiaries were provided with sarees, jackets, and other clothing items. An annadanam (community meal) was also organized after the distribution.Former Municipal Chairman Mekala Shiva Reddy, Dubba Narasimha Reddy, Telakala Mohan Reddy, Burgula Ramesh Goud, Venu Goud, Sudhakar Shetty, Jayakrishna, Darshanam Vinod, Bazaar Murali Goud, Charla Sudhakar Reddy, Alagadda Srinivas, and other Congress leaders participated in the programme.
