
Uppal:Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy expressed happiness over the government’s decision to name the elevated corridor from Uppal to Narapally as “Sri Bandari Rajireddy Corridor”, as per G.O. Ms. No. 104.He thanked the state government and concerned officials for taking this decision. He stated that naming the corridor after former Uppal MLA Bandari Rajireddy, who holds a special place in the hearts of the people, is a commendable move that reflects public sentiment.The MLA said that this project will be highly beneficial to the people of Uppal constituency and termed it an important step towards development. He expressed hope that the government would continue to support more development initiatives in the future.He also assured that he would continue to work tirelessly to fulfill the aspirations of the people.Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted his family’s long association with the Indian National Congress for over 50 years. He mentioned that his mother served as a ward member in Mallapur Gram Panchayat representing the Congress party.He further noted that his late brother, Bandari Rajireddy, served as Kapra Municipal Chairman, the first MLA of Uppal constituency, and as a board member of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, contributing significantly through the Congress party.He recalled that Rajireddy had worked tirelessly for the victory of Revanth Reddy in the 2019 Malkajgiri Parliamentary elections. He also mentioned that Rajireddy contested as a Congress candidate in 2014 for Uppal but was defeated.The MLA added that he himself received a ticket from Bharat Rashtra Samithi in 2023.Finally, he expressed heartfelt gratitude, on behalf of his family, to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Rajya Sabha MP Vem Narender Reddy for honoring his brother’s legacy by naming the corridor after him.
