
Medchal, April 11 :A district-level awareness seminar and rally on “Drug Control and Strengthening of Regulation Day” was organized on Saturday at CMR Pharmacy College, Kandlakoya, under the aegis of the Medchal–Malkajgiri District Drugs Control Administration.The program was conducted as part of the concluding events of the Health Week celebrations held from April 6 to 11 under the Public Governance Progress Initiative.Addressing the gathering, District Medical and Health Officer Dr. C. Uma Gowri advised that antibiotics should be used strictly based on doctors’ prescriptions. Cyberabad Narcotics DSP P. Bhikshapathi Rao highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse and urged youth to stay vigilant.CMR Group Chairman C.H. Gopal Reddy emphasized the need for awareness on the misuse of medicines, while District Chemists Association President G. Venugopal Sharma called upon chemists to act responsibly in the sale of medicines. Drugs Control Administration Assistant Director Dr. B. Lakshmi Narayana explained drug control measures, QR code verification, and the complaint redressal system.On the occasion, competitions such as essay writing, quiz, painting, and elocution were conducted for students, and prizes were distributed to the winners.Pharmacists, chemists, students, and government officials participated in large numbers.
