
Hyderabad/Uppal:In view of the IPL 2026 matches scheduled from April 5 to May 22 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, authorities have made extensive security and traffic arrangements.Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty and Traffic DCPs reviewed the arrangements during a press meet held at the stadium. Officials stated that a large number of police personnel will be deployed to ensure smooth conduct of matches and safety of spectators.Around 20,000 spectators are expected to attend each match. Adequate measures have been taken for parking facilities, traffic regulation, and crowd control. Special focus has been given to avoid traffic congestion in and around Uppal, with diversions planned on key routes.Authorities informed that approximately 430 CCTV cameras have been installed in and around the stadium for surveillance. Special teams including law and order police, traffic personnel, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and fire safety units will be on duty.Strict security checks will be carried out at entry points, and restrictions will be imposed on carrying prohibited items inside the stadium. Spectators have been advised to follow guidelines and cooperate with security personnel.Traffic restrictions will be implemented on match days, particularly affecting heavy vehicles, and commuters are urged to use alternative routes.
