
Hyderabad – Leaders of the Jadcherla Journalists Association submitted a memorandum to K. Srinivas Reddy, Chairman of the Telangana Media Academy, demanding comprehensive welfare measures and enhanced professional security for journalists.
The delegation urged the government to provide bus pass facilities without restrictions to journalists across the state. They also demanded that print journalists be provided laptops and cameras, while video journalists be given laptops along with video cameras, all with 100 per cent subsidy. Further, they sought free toll facility at all toll gates based on accreditation cards and requested the government to ensure quality free medical services for journalists in both government and private hospitals.
Stating that journalists act as a vital bridge of information between society and the government, the association leaders appealed for a positive consideration of their long-pending issues.
Responding to the memorandum, Media Academy Chairman K. Srinivas Reddy assured that special two-day training programmes would be conducted exclusively for journalists from Jadcherla and that certificates would be issued upon completion. He reiterated that the Media Academy remains committed to the skill development and professional growth of journalists.
The programme was attended by Jadcherla Press Club President Vadla Krishna, General Secretary M.D. Sultan, Vice President Shekhar Telugu, Joint Secretary Mallesh, senior journalists, EC member Tambulam Srinivas, and several other journalists.
