
Uppal, February 9:Calling upon journalists to take a proactive role in social service activities, Telangana Working Journalists Association (TWJA) State President Virahat Ali said that journalists must remain at the forefront of social responsibility along with professional duties.On Sunday, Virahat Ali congratulated the newly elected committee members of the Uppal Press Club, who paid him a courtesy visit under the leadership of TWJA State Treasurer Mothe Venkat Reddy and Medchal District General Secretary Dontula Venkat Ram Reddy.Addressing the gathering, Virahat Ali emphasized that journalists should actively engage in public awareness programmes in collaboration with various public organisations, while also taking up welfare activities for journalists. He stressed the need to curb growing unethical practices in journalism and said that every journalist has a responsibility to uphold the core values and credibility of the profession.
